Street Fighter vs. Traktor Pro
The clever bods over at DJ Tech Tools have created this new Midi Fighter controller which is causing quite a stir amongst DJs everywhere.
I was first struck by the Midi Fighter’s down-right orgasmic stylings, fitted with arcade style buttons that take me back to happy days of mis-spending my youth randomly smashing the hell out of the Street Fighter arcade machine and pretending that i meant Ryu to finish off his opponent with that Hadouken.
I then learnt that it comes in a pack with different colour options for the buttons and you assemble the unit yourself (apparantly do-able in 5 minutes). How cool is that!
And the Midi Fighter Kit triumphantly climbed it’s way to the top of my Christmas list when I saw this video demonstration of version 2 in action with an analogue control joy-stick to mash up your samples with midi effects. Sick!
